Paying Bills The Painless Way
I have, like the majority of people, sometimes had trouble paying bills on time. Especially those that come in quarterly and seem to take away a large chunk of your pay.
That is all in the past now however, and I owe it all to a simple little trick: setting up a savings account (preferably a free high interest account) and putting aside a set amount - enough to cover all your bills - into this account every payday.
For this to be successful you will need to work out exactly how much the total of your bills are and put this amount away each fortnight (or whenever it is you get paid).
Simply total up ALL your bills for the month (try to over estimate rather than under estimate), working out how much the ones that come in irregularly (like electricity and gas) are for the same period, and then divide this amount by how often you get paid (divide by 4 if you get paid weekly, for example). This is the amount you need to put aside each pay to cover your bills.
If you do this and don’t touch the money, you will find that when those bills do come in you will have enough put aside to pay them all easily.
